Making an Impact That Matters

At the end of 2018, Aviall team members from Anchorage to Amsterdam teamed up to bring holiday cheer to local children and families experiencing tough times. Below are some highlights of our efforts.

Aviall Winnipeg collected donations to support the Salvation Army’s ‘Toy Mountain’ for underprivileged children who might otherwise receive nothing at Christmas. In total, 6,030 toys were donated and Aviall Calgary rallied to send a full box of 100 – plus Hot Wheels to add to the collection.

Aviall Vancouver stepped up their holiday giving by collecting donations for the Richmond Food Bank and the BC Children’s Hospital.

Aviall Fort Lauderdale adopted two families through the Neighbors 4 Neighbors program, as they have done in years past, to provide toys and clothing. A thank you note from one of the families read: “It’s been so peaceful and we are all getting along. It’s funny how material things can make a big difference in our life. The boys asked if the clothes came from the thrift store. Not this time! Thank you and I hope we can keep in touch.” Team members also raised funds for the Showering Love organization which has converted a bus into a showering facility for the homeless community in South Florida.

Aviall Chicago sent 350 pounds of food to the Green Harvest Food Pantry and collected funds to make a cash donation to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.

Aviall Crown Point (Sisu Services) collected more than 600 canned goods and non-perishable items for the Northwest Indiana Food Bank to help provide critical meal assistance to individuals and families in need.

Aviall Denver pulled together donations for Houses of Hope at the Family Tree, a charity that helps people overcome child abuse, domestic violence and homelessness.

Aviall Amsterdam embraced the spirit of giving and donated four large boxes of holiday food for their local food bank, Voedselbank Haarlemmermeer.

An earthquake couldn’t deter Aviall Anchorage from teaming up throughout the month of December to collect donations in support of area food pantries through The Food Bank of Alaska Foundation.

Both Aviall Memphis and Aviall Raleigh hosted toy collections for their local Toys for Tots drives. Memphis team members also donated to the HeartLand Hands Food Pantry and Raleigh team members supported the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Project.

Aviall Van Nuys donated boxes of toys to the Michael Hoefflin Foundation for an annual holiday party. The Michael Hoefflin Foundation provides support for children and their family members diagnosed with cancer.

Aviall Atlanta donated unwrapped toys to a Toys for Tots drive sponsored by Prologis. They also collected blankets, coats and canned goods for two local shelters.

Aviall Defense made donations and volunteered at the annual ‘Packing of the Bags’ at the VA North Texas Medical Center to support veteran inpatients.

Aviall Dallas challenged each other to a competition between various teams in its three buildings to determine who could collect the most food and toys for the holidays. Last season, the entire Aviall Dallas food donation topped 6,000 lbs. This season, the teams collected over 10,000 lbs. for the North Texas Food Bank and donated 75 bicycles (and two scooters) to Toys for Tots.

Thank you to everyone involved in supporting our communities around the globe. We look forward to sharing our 2019 success where it matters the most.
